1761-2011

Welcome to Goffstown's 250th Anniversary website, where you can find the information you need to get the most out of the various local events and activities being planned for 2011, our town's celebratory year. This website is a work in progress and will be updated regularly as our plans become set, so please check back often.

We have lots of events planned, ones that will hopefully suit the needs of all ages and interests. It is our wish that this anniversary celebration will include people from all walks of life and from all over town, who will help us commemorate Goffstown's past, present, and future. So please join us in celebrating all things Goffstown!

Watch for Colonial Tim,
the town crier, who will be appearing at events around town.
Here are some of the many ways in which you can participate in the Anniversary Year:

Passport to the Anniversary Year: Toward the end of 2010, be sure to pick up your Passport to the Anniversary Year, which will contain a schedule of events, the Goffstown Challenge, and advertising from many of Goffstown's merchants and businesses. Passports are free and will be available at several locations around town.

Goffstown Challenge: This year-long event challenges you to see more of Goffstown than ever before. Hike the White Dot Trail, visit one of the Goffstown Historical Society's open houses, get your picture taken with Colonial Tim, and more. Keep track of your progress in the Passport, and when you are finished with the Goffstown Challenge, show your completed Passport to collect your prize—a special tshirt available only to those who prove up to the Challenge!

Daffodil Program: With the help of the Goffstown Community Garden Club, we are sponsoring a program to plant as many daffodils in Goffstown as possible in the next year, particularly along the town's major roads. This program will not only beautify our town every Spring, but it will also dovetail with similar efforts going on in Dunbarton, Weare, and New Boston. Along with Goffstown, these towns are all part of the General John Stark Scenic Byway. To contribute to the Daffodil Program, please click here.

Parade: On Old Home Day Weekend, Goffstown will be hosting a unique, one-of-a-kind event, a parade unlike any seen in town in recent memory. We hope that as many groups as possible will participate in the Parade, which will include bands, vehicles, and of course, floats, which will commemorate Goffstown throughout its history. To sign up to participate in the Parade, please contact us.
